Land of rivers, forests, glaciers and isolation

Adventurers will find some of the greatest trout fishing in the world in Patagonia. There are few unexplored places on earth where one can fish rivers, lakes and streams that have rarely, if ever, been fished before. A recent Triple Dare client described fishing conditions in this region as "beyond perfect" and much as they would have been more than 100 years ago in Montana, Idaho or Wyoming.

Triple Dare has discovered a lodge located on a beautiful and isolated lake at the outflow of a magnificent river. There are literally thousands of acres available to explore… all privately owned, protected and via exclusive ‘invitation-only' access. Our experiences guides lead expeditions through eight rivers and five lakes with rainbows, browns and an especially feisty native fish called perca trucha. Many fish in the region grow to more than two feet in length. Most of our fishing is done with dry flies, as well as nymphs and streamers.

No matter how remote the location, some people are unable to consider fishing an extraordinary adventure (clearly, they have not been on a Triple Dare itinerary). Recognizing this, Chilean and Argentine Patagonia offers much more…

Patagonia's beauty is breathtaking and the land is virtually uninhabited. Canoeing, horseback riding and hiking through areas of intense volcanic activity are but a few of the options available to Triple Dare adventurers. Kayaking and rafting expeditions in southern Chile are among the most scenic and challenging anywhere.

Although the population is sparse, Triple Dare has cultivated strong relationships with locals throughout the region. Native Chileans are very proud of their land and heritage; they are always eager to share their unique customs and lifestyle with visitors. To share an experience with local Gauchos working cattle alongside their herding dogs is unforgettable. Not a tourist experience; this is the real thing. Chileans take great pride in the care and presentation of their horses. Triple Dare invites you to ride these elegant animals through the countryside, past lakes and through streams. Coastal tours are also readily available.

"For the past 12 years, Triple Dare and Jim Newman have been setting up and guiding me into remote destinations in Chile, Alaska, Montana, California, Central America and Canada. I have been on lakes and streams that few, if any, have ever been before. To cast a fly to fish that have never seen an artificial lure is a once in a lifetime experience.

"Six of us had been talking about an exploration and fishing trip to Patagonia for several years when we met Jim Newman of Triple Dare at an outdoor/adventure show in San Mateo, CA. We told him what we wanted to do and he expanded our possibilities beyond our wildest dreams.

We ended up with an incredible trip to Patagonia, Chile, with a stopover in Santiago that included a tour of the wine country and day at the beach in Vina del Mar.

From Santiago we went to Lago Verde, an unbelievably beautiful lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. It was dark when we arrived and our boat trip across the lake was highlighted by the brightest starlit sky any of us had ever seen with "The Southern Cross" as the centerpiece.

The fishing was phenomenal! The streams were as clear as gin and full of trout. Some of us were relatively (well, admittedly VERY) inexperienced fly fishermen, but with the attentive instruction by the guides, were landing fifteen to twenty fish per day. We waded through streams and fished a wild, majestic river from pontoon boats. The river cut through canyons with deep gorges and, at times, it was a wild and spectacular ride.

It's hard to believe we packed so many exciting and enlightening experiences into such a short period of time. We knew where we wanted to go but, without Triple Dare, we wouldn't have known where to begin! Thank you Jim and Triple Dare!"
