Jim Newman - Proprietor
Jim Newman is co-founder of Triple Dare, a former Marine Corps Captain and Vietnam veteran who has organized and led trips to many of the most remote locations in the world. Before creating Triple Dare in 1997, Jim guided outdoor writers/photographers to remote areas of Alaska, Patagonia, Canada, Yukon Territory, Darien Gap of Panama/Columbia and other extremely remote locations. He has competed in Eco-Challenge races in Utah and British Columbia and was responsible for mapping a section of the Continental Divide with Triple Dare co-founder Brian Daigle for Back Packer magazine. Since the very beginning, Jim has operated Triple Dare with the philosophy that the best experience comes from travelers being able to personalize their ownadventures to expand their cultural horizons.

Brian Daigle - Proprietor
Brian is co-founder of Triple Dare and an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a Search and Rescue Swimmer/Instructor and served in Operation Desert Storm. Born and raised in Montana, he is an expert mountain guide, rodeo rider and horse trainer, experienced river rafter and fishing guide. Brian has competed in multiple Eco-Challenge races, both in the U.S. and internationally. He is a frequent competitor in other endurance races in California and Montana. Brian and Jim Newman guided a Spanish language news team deep into the jungles of Belize for an exposé on the looting of Maya ruin sites and illegal trading on the world market. They were guests of the government of Belize and a team of anthropologists from Cleveland State University. Brian has completed backcountry surveillance work for the federal government, helped map a section of the Continental Divide Trail for Back Packer Magazine and is a licensed CPR instructor.

Knute Niehoff - Marketing Director
Beginning with the Boy Scouts, Knute learned how to be at “One” with Mother Nature. As a camp counselor every summer, he taught survival skills, swimming, lifesaving and canoeing – all while passing on his tremendous respect and enthusiasm for the elements, animals and geography of outdoors. Knute achieved the rare honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. He was a combat medic for two tours in Vietnam and competed in multiple marathons, triathlons and Eco-Challenge races. He has a degree in Physical Education and Recreation. An accomplished and avid backpacker, he has traveled extensively throughout America’s wilderness and abroad. Knute enjoys nothing more than sharing his passion for adventure travel.
